Product Designer – Design System & Product Experience

Open positions
About this role

Does designing for complex data systems intrigue you? Do you deepen user experience through GenAI and appreciation for the code under the hood? Do you take pride in turning ambiguity into systemic elegance that charms users?

You'll shape our overall product experience while building the design system that makes it all possible. You’ll own foundational aspects of the platform, including navigation, sharing, notifications, overarching patterns, and the design side of our design system.

You're a systems thinker who sees the bigger picture—how every button, every flow, and every micro-interaction contributes to a cohesive experience that helps our customers trust their data and accelerate their business.

You see GenAI as a creative partner, exploring how it can enhance both your design process and our users' experiences. You code prototypes not just because you can, but because you love bridging vision and reality.

Who we are

At Ataccama, we're at the forefront of data management, creating a cutting-edge platform that empowers global businesses to trust their data at scale. We turn chaotic data landscapes into reliable foundations for decision-making, now supercharged by the rise of AI. Companies like HP, T-Mobile, and Allianz rely on us daily.

We are a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Augmented Data Quality Solutions for four consecutive years. And we're just getting started—our trajectory is accelerating, and we need people who want to be in it to win it.

In this complex domain, we're praised for our interaction design and style, proving that enterprise software can feel fresh. Our bold brand stands out from the blue corporate crowd, just like our product does.

Your mission

  • Build the foundation. Drive the success of our design expression, from platform-wide patterns to the building blocks of the design system. Ensure every Ataccama experience feels cohesive, accessible, and delightful across our entire platform.
  • Think globally, design universally. Shape experiences that work beautifully for data professionals from Sydney to Cape Town to San Francisco, from technical experts to business users.
  • Code with purpose. Transform design concepts into living, breathing prototypes. You'll use GenAI or your coding skills to bridge the gap between vision and reality. You don’t need to create shippable code, but create experiences that developers can build and users will love.
  • Champion quality. Be the multiplier of interaction design excellence. Every animation, every state change, every error message—they all matter, and you'll make sure they're spot-on.
  • Connect the dots. Collaborate with product teams, engineers, and researchers to ensure design decisions make sense for users, the product ecosystem, and our business goals.
  • You’ll join our Product Experience team of around 15 talented product and content designers, reporting directly to the leader of our design organization.
  • Your focus will span this functional design team and a cross-functional team dedicated to foundational platform experiences. Collaboration with both teams ensures your exposure to real users and their needs, and your ability to shape our platform’s design consistently.

About you

  • You're the kind of designer who gets excited about both the forest and the trees. You can zoom out to see how systems interconnect, then zoom in to perfect that hover state animation.
  • Your roots go deep into design. You believe great design isn't just pretty; it solves real problems for real people.
  • You’ve scaled quality design through design systems before.
  • You're intrigued by GenAI and how it can enhance both your design process and our users' experiences, turning ideas into living prototypes.
  • You take ownership seriously—when something's yours, you drive its success.
  • You thrive in cross-functional collaboration, pulling others into the work. You work across teams and organizational layers to turn complex requirements into elegant solutions.
  • You understand that the best products balance user desires, technical feasibility, and business value.
  • Bonus points if you've worked with enterprise B2B products or have experience with data visualization and complex information architecture.

Why join us

  • This isn't just another design role. You'll be shaping how the future of data management looks and feels. You'll work with a passionate team that values craft, celebrates innovation, and isn't afraid to challenge conventions.
  • We embrace flexible working arrangements and create an environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background. Your ideas will have a real impact, and your work will be seen and used by thousands of professionals from major companies worldwide.

Ready to design the future of data?

  • If you're excited about creating experiences that make complex simple, turning good into great, and building systems that scale—we want to hear from you.
  • We believe diverse teams create the best products. Even if your experience doesn't perfectly match every point, but you're passionate about exceptional design and ready to grow—please apply. We're excited to see what you'll bring to the table.
