We are looking for a Talent Specialist with HR Generalist experience to support our office in Toronto and help us grow even faster.

Your challenge - HR Generalist

  • Perform staff onboarding procedures including new hire orientation, payroll and benefits setup, introduction to talent tools and creation of accounts and office access
  • Perform staff offboarding procedures including management of terminations and resignations, termination of accounts, collection of company assets and exit interviews
  • Support Management with handling and tracking staff probation, compensation and performance reviews
  • Support the enrollment and cancellation of employee benefits, and support staff with inquiries and change processing
  • Provide quarterly reports on probation, exit interviews and other ad hoc reports as needed
  • Lead employee relations and provide ongoing advice, support and resolution strategies to staff and management on HR programs, policies, complaints, etc. and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary or corrective actions
  • Create and distribute internal HR communications as needed
  • Monitor staff morale and company culture and propose and implement appropriate programs and trainings
  • Respond to HR-related inquiries and provide HR-related training
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal employment laws
  • Continually improve HR processes and procedures
  • Effectively handle sensitive and confidential information with a high level of professionalism
  • Collaborate with the company’s local and international HR teams
  • Organize company events
  • Track, approve and reconcile absences for all staff
  • Support the employee engagement and perks programs in collaboration with sister entity
  • Lead the temporary foreign worker program including preparation of the appropriate documentation for staff traveling to and from Canada and managing the process for bringing foreign workers to Canada
  • Enter new hires, transfers and departures in Finance system
  • Support sister entity with HR policy and procedure development and maintenance

Your challenge - Recruiting

  • Develop short and long-term recruitment and hiring strategies for Toronto office in collaboration with management, HR and Marketing teams 
  • Conduct new hire requisition meetings with hiring managers
  • Prepare job descriptions
  • Coordinate the interview process and candidate follow-up
  • Administer applicant tests, reference and background checks and present offers of employment
  • Find new, creative ways to promote hiring
  • Search for new hiring channels
  • Actively search and build a pipeline of candidates
  • Research, organize and participate in recruitment events including campus recruitment and other job fairs and conferences
  • Communicate across teams (HR, marketing, development, management, etc.)
  • Evaluate and report on recruitment results
  • Manage and update applicant tracking system (Lever)
  • Manage job boards including research, setup, posting jobs, maintaining users and handling contract renewals
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies as needed

Is this you?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field (at least CHRP)
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR and/or recruitment/headhunting role
  • Experience with (ATS) applicant tracking systems
  • Experience hiring for technical, consulting and sales roles
  • Experience recruiting and hiring outside of Canada (US market)
  • Ability to find and use suitable hiring channels and bring new talent, especially from the IT field
  • A desire to learn and expand HR knowledge 
  • Strong project management and organizational ability, with excellent multi-tasking capabilities
  • Stellar communication skills and an emphatic personality 
  • Flexible and self-driven for success
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about all things Health and Safety
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business professionalism and ethics 
  • Ability to identify and understand business needs
