We are Ataccama, a Czech-Canadian software company developing a cutting-edge data management platform. We’ve grown from a team of 20 to 300+, and we aren’t stopping anytime soon. We are looking for a Diversity &  Inclusion Specialist to join our HR team and help us keep our company culture strong and make it even better as we grow. Your challenge

  • Support, develop, and advance, drive, and own the long-term strategy for creating an inclusive culture in Ataccama. 
  • Lead from the strategy side, but also be ready to jump in and take a hands-on approach. Make things happen, often by taking them on yourself.
  • Communicate frequently and actively both internally and externally—with colleagues, other teams (especially HR marketing), job candidates, customers, and other audiences as needed.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, plans, and other considerations to key stakeholders, especially the management team. Make recommendations and explain your thinking.
  • Get familiar with the Ataccama team. We have 10 offices around the world and 300+ team members, each at different points in our understanding of D&I topics. Your challenge will be to meet everyone where they are and communicate effectively in order to move the D&I agenda and your efforts forward.
  • Organize and coordinate all D&I activities. Select suitable tools and facilitate diversity-related initiatives. This includes leading, organizing, and driving the efforts of our in-company D&I group to make meetings productive and lead to results and tangible outcomes.
  • Be proactive in opening, facilitating, and moderating discussions on diversity and inclusion topics in large or small groups—whether in person, over Zoom, on Slack, etc.
  • Follow trends and the latest research in the D&I field. Adapt what you learn to effectively implement your takeaways at Ataccama.
  • Review and evaluate our current processes and strategies to ensure they contribute to an inclusive environment and recommend changes as needed.
  • Take initiative and be creative. If you have suggestions for new activities or projects that support diversity and inclusion, make them happen. Have some ideas about how to make our company culture even better? Go for it!

Is this you?

  • You are an expert in D&I topics and have experience driving change management for Diversity & Inclusion initiatives. Ideally, you’ve held a similar role in a startup or fast-growing company with an agile environment. You might even have experience working and communicating in a tech company and be comfortable navigating and managing D&I initiatives for a tech audience.
  • You have experience with crisis communications (internal or external) and other challenging communication situations where sensitivity, empathy, precision, and care are key.
  • You’re a natural communicator. People feel comfortable talking to you and coming to you with personal stories, questions, and needs. 
  • You speak and write English in a highly fluent, nuanced way, even in front of large groups of people.
  • You’re confident in yourself and your abilities, even in challenging situations. You can be assertive when it’s called for, but you’re an equally good listener. You welcome constructive feedback and are able to effectively incorporate and action it.
  • You’ve kicked off projects from the ground up (and finished them, too!). You are able to come up with new ideas and action them.
  • You’ve spent time in cultures that you don’t consider your own. You’ve experienced diverse environments firsthand and are used to communicating and working within them.
  • You’re happy working independently. You’re able to self-prioritize your time, work, plans, and activities.
